Things are sweeter when they're lost. I know -- because once I wanted something and got it. It was the only thing I ever wanted badly, [...] and when I got it it turned to dust in my hand.

F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Beautiful and Damned

  1. Oh S... I've been thinking the same thing lately... I once wanted him so much and when I lost him... I wondered if it was ever real... maybe it was only dust xox ♡♡♡

  2. This also makes me think, it speaks of consumerism and how we want certain material things and once the hype of the search is over and we have whatever it is we wanted we get bored and want more. The key to happiness, I believe, is not in material possessions but satisfaction from within.
